What does this certification cover?
Knowledge of complications is essential in this field, as unfortunately complications can arise when offering anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments. This is a course that offers you the opportunity to demonstrate to your clients that you care about their safety and wellbeing, along with your own continued professional development. Here is your opportunity to learn from one of the best practitioners in the industry, this course will boost your confidence and reduce unnecessary worry from misunderstanding the risks involved with delivering these procedures.
Since 2013, pressure has been mounting in the Aesthetics industry for standards to rise in both Aesthetics training and in the level of quality expected in the delivery of Aesthetics procedures. In 2013 the Aesthetic injectables world started talking about dermal-filler related blindness and vascular occlusion. Before this, aesthetic procedures were viewed by many as being just as safe as most other beauty treatments available on the high street. Dr Aicken has written for multiple aesthetics journals about the risks of these procedures and can share his knowledge and experience with you on this online course.

Anti-Wrinkle and Dermal Filler Course Format
We have designed this course around you and your schedule. We found increasing demand for Doctors, Dentists and Nurses unable to give up a whole Saturday or Sunday for the Anti-Wrinkle Toxin and Filler course, and instead wanted more flexibility. Therefore, our program has been structured in a way that allows you to complete our 6-8 hours of online modules then come to us to practice on real patients under the close supervision of Dr Aicken.
- 6-8 hours online self-study – our Foundation Course (see below).
- 4.5 hours small group injecting with Dr Michael Aicken
By the end of the online foundation course in Anti-Wrinkle and Dermal Filler treatments, students will, ahead of their face-to-face training, understand in theory how to safely perform the following non-surgical procedures:
Antiwrinkle treatments (with Botulinum Toxin Type A):
Glabellar frown lines
Forehead / frontalis
Crows feet / orbicularis occuli
Following completing the Foundation Course, you will gain lots of hands on experience performing all the treatments in a small group setting under the supervision of Dr Aicken, an aesthetics practitioner with over 14 years experience.
Once we receive your course payment and application form we’ll send you the login details for the online content so that you can get started. The online content should take around 6-8 hours to complete – it’s an insurance approved, comprehensive guide to dermal filler and anti wrinkle injections; you can take a look at the online syllabus.
Why add Anti-Wrinkle Toxin/ Fillers to your portfolio of treatments?
There is potential for a high gross margin. Patients currently spend £150-£1,000 per visit and return 3-4 times per year.
There is little financial risk in you adding Cosmetic Injectables to your practice price list. Typically your dental indemnity will already cover you for Anti-Wrinkle Toxin / Dermal fillers – or at least can be extended to cover these with a relatively small additional premium. This course Meets the General Dental Council Educational Criteria for 8 Hours self-verifiable CPD.
There is little financial risk in you adding Cosmetic Injectables to your practice price list. Typically your medical indemnity will already cover you for Anti-Wrinkle Toxin / Dermal fillers – or at least can be extended to cover these with a relatively small additional premium. As a GP this course may meet your own professional educational objectives or may simply help you extend the high-profit services offered by your practice. Note that there is precedent for GPs from ROI obtaining locum funding in order to offset the cost of attending this course; you should consider enquiring locally about this option.

Suggested Aesthetic Insurance Companies
Often adding Aesthetics to an existing MDU/MPS or dental equivalent policy can prove more expensive than having a stand alone Aesthetic specific policy. There are many companies and options out there below are an example of two that approve our courses:
Insync: Click on the logo for a quote.
Please let us know if there is a problem obtaining a quote from the insurers or an issue with their customer service at [email protected]
It’s really the insurance companies who make the rules for eligibility criteria as they offer insurance to practitioners following training. We highly recommend speaking with Cathedral or Insync about insurance requirements before making an enquiry with us.
